Google Search Gets Speech Recognition

This one is a completely innovative application. What else would you say when you heard you could now search the web on Mobile by just using your voice commands. Hang on, its only Google search! So that saves users the effort to type out words in the Google search engine. With Google taking the initiative, soon other search engines may also support this type of application.

This new Google search application integrates speech recognition. So that makes it very clear that you would not have to type out in the search engine. “The application is equipped with speech recognition technology to understand Indian accents. Its software enables users of Nokia S60 handsets to access information on the internet by voice search,” Google India said.

Says Vinay Goel, the Google India product head, “The application is equipped with speech the downloadable application automatically detects the user’s location and facilitates faster access to Google Search.”

Nokia mobile users can download the free-to-use Google Search mobile application from m.google.com/search.
